Barbecued Chicken Recipe

My family truly likes this formula. We don't fry foods much any longer and want to barbeque, so I tailored my mom's formula for barbeque marinade to match our preferences. Every summer months, we have a community picnic. I take this poultry and watch it disappear! —Linda Scott, Hahira, Atlanta

    2 broiler/fryer poultry (3 to 4 pounds each), cut up
    2 tbsps red onion powder
    4 tsp salt or salt substitute
    1 tbsp paprika
    2 tsp beans powder
    1-1/2 tsp soup powder
    1-1/2 tsp pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
    Touch cayenne pepper pepper
    2 glasses ketchup
    3 tbsps brown sugar
    2 tbsps dry chopped onion
    2 tbsps thawed out lemon juice concentrate
    1/2 tsp. fluid smoking, optional


    Pat poultry dry. In a normal size dish, mix spice rub ingredients; source 1 tbsp spice rub for marinade. Rub staying spice rub on all sides of poultry.
    Bbq grill poultry, discovered, over method heat 20 moments, skin side down. Meanwhile, merge all marinade ingredients; mix in arranged spice rub. Turn chicken; grill 20-30 moments longer or until mindset run clear, basting frequently with marinade. Yield: 8 meals.
