Homemade Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Homemade Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

    2 glasses all-purpose flour
    2 tbsps sugar
    4 tsp cooking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. lotion of tartar
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1 egg, beaten
    2/3 cup milk
    2 pints berries, sliced
    Pulled lotion, optional


    In a dish, merge flour, glucose, cooking powdered, salt and lotion of tartar. Cut in butter until combination is the size of beans. Add the egg and milk; mix well. Distribute into a oiled 8-in. rectangle cooking pan. Prepare at 375° for 20-25 minutes. Cut into pieces and top with berries and whipped lotion if preferred. Yield: 9 meals.
