Strawberry Shortcakes Recipe

    1/4 cup fat-free simply yogurt
    2 tbsps reduced-fat bitter cream
    1 tbsp confectioners' sugar
    1/4 tsp. rum extract
    1 pint fresh berries, chopped, divided
    2/3 cup all-purpose flour
    2 tbsps whole rice flour
    2 tbsps plus 1/2 tsp. glucose, divided
    3/4 tsp. cooking powder
    1/4 tsp. cooking soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    5 tsp cold butter
    1/3 cup buttermilk


    In a normal size dish, merge the natural, bitter lotion, confectioners' glucose and draw out. In another dish, mash 1/2 cup strawberries; mix into natural combination. Cover and chill until providing.
    Combine the flours, 2 tbsps glucose, cooking powdered, everyday and salt. Cut in butter until combination appears like rough food crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until a soft money forms (dough will be sticky). Turn onto a floured surface; carefully massage 8-10 times. Pat or roll out to 1/2-in. thickness; cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. standard machine.
    Place on a cooking piece covered with cooking spray; spread with staying glucose. Prepare at 400° for 12-14 minutes or until fantastic brown. Remove to a cable holder. Divided shortcakes flat in a trench in half. Spread natural combination over dessert bottoms; top with staying berries and dessert covers. Yield: 4 meals.
